You will be picked up from your hotel to start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Drive northwest on the Kampala – Gulu highway, en route stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the endangered Rhinos. This is the only Rhino bleeding place in Uganda, in fact a safari to Murchison Falls National Park is your only chance of seeing the Big Five in Uganda. After the Rhino Sanctuary, proceed to Masindi where you will have lunch. Drive to the southern gate of the park and cross with the ferry to connect with the northern part of the park where you will spend the night.
Wake up to an early breakfast and go for a morning game drive. You will leave the lodge at 6am to be able to catch up with the early risers. The park is divided into the southern and the northern sectors, the north being the most populated area in terms of animal volumes. You will be doing your game drive in the northern part of the park and you may see Lions, Jackals, Hyenas, and Leopards. Among the commonly sighted animals are Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Oribi etc.
In the afternoon drive to the jetty on the southern bank of the Nile for a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls. This is a breath taking 2 hour boat trip that offers opportunities to see wildlife by the river bank, Hippos, Crocodiles and plenty of beautiful birds. The epitome of this very popular activity is the beautiful view of the water falls as you witness the River Nile squeeze through the rocks only 8 meters wide, dropping 43 meters deep. With such fond memories of the falls, the boat will take you back to the river bank and return to the lodge. En route, engage in a brief game drive as you drive through the park.

Have breakfast at leisure before you drive back to Kampala. Cross with the ferry back to the southern sector of the park and drive to the top of the falls. Watch the thunderous Nile as it forces through what is known as the devils canyon. Savor the beautiful sight of the rainbow that forms just above the falls, in fact it feels like you can touch the rainbow.
